A motorcycle taxi driver missing since July 14 was found dead along Highway 1 in Lopburi; his family suspects foul play after CCTV showed him leaving alone following a phone call, though police are investigating both accidental death and mu
At 12:30 p.m. on July 17, 2025, Deputy Investigation Chief Chatree Satyaniyon of Mueang Lopburi Police Station responded to a report of a death along Highway 1 in Khao Sam Yot district. Officers, forensic technicians, doctors from Phra Narai Maharaj Hospital, and volunteers arrived at the scene near an abandoned gas station between kilometer markers 154–155, approximately 1 kilometer from Mueang Lopburi station and 150 meters from the highway police booth.
At the scene, the deceased was found face-down, wearing a green jacket, blue shirt, black shorts, and black leather shoes. A phone and ID card were found in his jacket pocket. The body showed no obvious signs of struggle or weapons at the scene. A detailed autopsy was ordered at Thammasat University's Institute of Forensic Medicine.
Nangthaniqa, 36, confirmed the deceased was her brother, Eakwit, who disappeared from home on July 14 at 2:30 a.m. He worked as a motorcycle taxi driver at Kasekhava housing estate in Mueang Lopburi and rode a blue Honda Wave. Family members found his motorcycle parked about 30 meters from where his body was discovered on the evening of July 15. CCTV footage showed him drinking with friends before receiving a phone call, after which he left alone on his motorcycle.
Police chief Ronnrong Suradet identified two possible causes: death from alcoholism or foul play as the family suspects. Investigators are retracing his movements from the housing estate, interviewing witnesses who heard arguing early on July 14, and examining CCTV footage and the deceased's phone records.
