Opposition Prepares for Five-Day No-Confidence Debate

People's Party deputy leader Rangsiman Rome said opposition parties are coordinating for a five-day no-confidence debate against the government, with topics kept secret until the session begins. He expressed confidence in the opposition's evidence and dismissed government attempts to appear unconcerned as a sign of insecurity. Rome also downplayed speculation that the debate could trigger a cabinet reshuffle to bring the Bhumjaithai Party into the coalition, stating the opposition's role is scrutiny, not political engineering.

Rome Exposes Gambling Share Scandal Implicating DE Minister

People's Party MP Rangsiman Rome alleges Bhumjaithai MP Suchada Sa-ng held a 1.47% stake in a gambling website while serving as secretary to the Digital Economy Minister, raising conflict-of-interest concerns. Rome questions why the ministry blocked nearly a million sites but not the one linked to Suchada, suggesting possible misuse of authority that could implicate Minister Chaiyachanok Chidchob. The case has been referred to the Department of Special Investigation, with potential charges including money laundering if the gambling operation is deemed illegal.

The duck foot tree, common across Thailand, signals winter with its intensely fragrant flowers that smell sweet to some but cause headaches and nausea in others due to high concentrations of linalool and other essential oils. Despite the divisive scent, nearly every part of the tree — bark, sap, leaves, and latex — holds significant value in traditional medicine for treating diabetes, respiratory ailments, digestive issues, and pain.

Prachinburi River Turns Black, Locals Suspect Chemical Pollution

Black, foul-smelling water has contaminated the Prachinburi River after the Irrigation Department opened a drainage gate releasing water from nearby rice fields. While government officials claim the discoloration and odor come from rotting grass, local residents insist the water contains chemicals, citing an unbearable stench and drawing parallels to a previous pollution case at Sri Maha Pho where chemical contamination was confirmed. The acting governor has ordered water testing, but locals allege samples were taken only from cleared surface water after sediment settled, not from the polluted discharge itself.
