Youth Swimming Championship Concludes, Aims to Select Thai National Team
The Arena Open Swimming Championship 2026 concluded at Thammasat University’s Rangsit pool, attracting over 800 youth swimmers from across Thailand. The competition aims to identify future national team talent and will feed selections for the 48th CJ Group ASEAN Youth Swimming Championship in Malaysia later this year. Officials praised the event for fostering discipline, experience, and inspiration among young athletes.
The Arena Open Swimming Championship 2026 concluded with a grand finale at the Thammasat University Rangsit pool, serving as a platform to identify youth talent for Thailand’s future national team. Organized by Arena Thailand under Pan Asia Footwear PLC, the competition attracted more than 800 young swimmers from various clubs, competing in age categories defined by the Aquatic Sports Association of Thailand. Results from the event will also be considered for selection to the 48th CJ Group ASEAN Youth Swimming Championship in Malaysia, scheduled for November 27‑29. Arena Thailand’s executive chairman, Sommat Khunseth, said the meet provides an important opportunity for young athletes to showcase their abilities, gain competitive experience, and improve their personal records. He added that the company aims to support Thai swimming, especially youth development, to inspire discipline, commitment, and continuous self‑improvement. Thanutwich Thosakul, secretary‑general of the Aquatic Sports Association of Thailand, thanked Arena for hosting the event, noting that the federation will use athletes’ times and performances to select representatives for the ASEAN championship, hoping to see promising swimmers with skill, discipline, and determination rise to the national team.
