Thailand Showcases 14 Climate Tech Firms Driving Net Zero Economy

The National Innovation Agency (NIA) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, along with partner organizations, held the Climate X 2026 Demo Day on September 10, 2026, at the Amber Meeting Rooms in the Impact Muang Thong Thani exhibition and convention center in Nonthaburi province. The event served as a major platform showcasing the potential of 14 climate technology entrepreneurs who have undergone intensive development across technology, strategy, business models, market access, and business expansion readiness. The event created opportunities to connect innovators with industry, investors, funding sources, and business partners to ensure innovations can be applied practically and achieve sustainable commercial growth.

Dr. Krichpaka Boonfueng, director of NIA, opened the event alongside Parivat Wongsamnuey, deputy director of innovation systems at NIA, along with representatives from government, private sector, industry, investors, experts, and partner networks.

Climate change is not merely an environmental issue but a global economic challenge, according to Dr. Krichpaka. Current climate change is directly impacting the global economy, industry, energy, agriculture, and business operations worldwide. The transition to a low-carbon economy and Net Zero targets is creating both challenges and new business opportunities. Climate technology and innovation play a crucial role in transforming climate challenges into business opportunities, value creation, and positive environmental and social impact.

NIA implements a Groom-Grant-Growth-Global mechanism to develop innovations for real-world markets. As the country's innovation conductor, NIA drives innovation systems through this framework, from cultivating and developing entrepreneurs, supporting innovation funding, creating market access opportunities, to pushing Thai businesses to grow and expand globally. For climate technology specifically, NIA prioritizes building an ecosystem connecting entrepreneurs with industry, government agencies, investors, and partner networks. This ensures innovations don't stop at the technology development stage but can be practically applied, have market support, generate revenue, and grow as sustainable businesses. Climate X 2026 was designed as more than an incubation program—it accelerates innovation business growth by helping entrepreneurs develop technology alongside their business model, create real-world technology trials, foster collaboration, access funding, and expand markets, with the goal of advancing entrepreneurs from good innovations to genuinely thriving businesses.
