The impact zone near the epicenter is expected to experience intensity level 8 on the Modified Mercalli scale, potentially causing severe building damage and partial structural collapse. The Meteorology Department noted that the magnitude and location of this earthquake do not meet the threshold for Cell Broadcast emergency alert notification.
