Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has refreshed its brand image with Mitsuru, a new brand ambassador character, to celebrate 65 years of business operations in the country. Mitsuru, an energetic young character full of positive energy who loves travel and adventure, represents the "Enjoy the Ride" philosophy and reflects Mitsubishi's mission to enhance and complete everyday life.

The name Mitsuru combines "Mitsu" from Mitsubishi with the Japanese ending "Ru," symbolizing reliability and completeness. Though rooted in Japan, Mitsuru has grown up in Thailand and understands Thai culture and lifestyle, much like Mitsubishi Motors itself, which has served Thai society with trust for over 65 years.

Mitsuru comes in four character designs: Master, the original confident ambassador; Motorsport, embodying adventure and determination inspired by Mitsubishi Rally Art's 2025 Asia Cross Country Rally wins; HEV, featuring blue tones representing Mitsubishi e:MOTION hybrid technology with full hybrid drive, seven drive modes, and Active Yaw Control; and AFS, a professional technician character representing after-sales service following Japanese hospitality standards through over 180 service centers nationwide.

The character will serve as Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's representative across digital platforms, marketing activities, and various customer experiences. Exclusive Mitsuru LINE stickers are available for free download through August 26, bringing the joy of the brand into daily conversations.

Bangkok — Georgian authorities have sent the death certificate of Thai travel YouTuber Hlun Solo to the Thai embassy, but the document does not yet clearly state his cause of death, according to his family.

Hlun Solo, whose real name was Boworntat Pengsuk, died while travelling in Georgia. His family is still awaiting further information from Georgian authorities about the circumstances and cause of his death.

On Saturday, Mos, Hlun's cousin whom he regarded as an older brother, posted an update on Facebook saying the family had been informed by the Thai embassy that Georgian authorities had already forwarded the death certificate.

According to Mos, the embassy told him on 10 August that the document contained preliminary information about Hlun's death but did not clearly specify the cause of death.

The Thai embassy has since sent a formal request to the relevant authorities seeking additional information and is continuing to follow up on the case.

"The family is still waiting for clarity regarding the examination results, including the actual cause of death," Mos wrote.

He said the family's main concern was that the investigation into Hlun's death be conducted fairly and transparently, with its findings open to scrutiny.

If the process is delayed, the family would like authorities to explain what stage the investigation has reached, why it is taking longer than expected and why any related documents or examinations have not yet been completed.

Mos stressed that the family was not seeking to blame or pressure any party.

"What we want is the truth, clarity and justice for him," he wrote, adding that these were things the family should be able to expect from a fair and transparent investigation.

The family also thanked the Thai embassy, Thai and Georgian authorities, officials involved in coordinating the case and members of the public who have followed the case and offered their support.

"The only thing the family wants is for the truth to come out, for him to receive justice, and for every step of the process to be transparent, proper and open to scrutiny," Mos wrote.

At the funeral service for Krieng Kalpitnanth, former deputy interior minister, held at the For Thailand Party office in Ubon Ratchathani, key political figures gathered. The most significant moment came when three former Prime Ministers—Thaksin Shinawatra, Yingluck Shinawatra, and Somchai Wongsawat—appeared alongside current Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who presided over the ceremony and sat in close conversation with Thaksin. As Thaksin prepared to leave, Anutin walked him to his car and performed a respectful wai, a gesture that observers say was designed to reinforce the bond between the two ruling coalition partners amid mounting political challenges.

Analysts interpret Anutin's wai as an attempt to reaffirm the tight alliance between the blue and red factions of the coalition government during turbulent times. The move appears to respond to recent speculation about secret dealings—such as reports of a supposed Monaco rendezvous between General Thammasus Promboon and For Thailand leaders—which both Thammasus and party officials flatly denied. By publicly honoring Thaksin, Anutin seems to be signaling that the blue and red remain solid and unified against political headwinds.

Anutin later explained that the wai was customary, noting he served under Thaksin during his premiership and holds him in high regard. He stressed that his government's work with For Thailand, with Deputy Prime Minister Yosthanan Wongswadisai, runs smoothly with strong cooperation.

Though the Ubon meeting appeared to be their first public encounter since Thaksin's release from prison and amnesty pardon, insiders confirm a private meeting occurred shortly after his discharge from detention on June 9, when Thaksin met with Newin Chidchob, Anutin, and Patcharaman at Fort Petchburi. That earlier conversation aimed to reassure Thaksin of the blue faction's continued respect and commitment to future political partnership.

The public appearance in Ubon marks the coalition's second encounter, but the first openly displayed. The wai served as a deliberate gesture to project government stability and solidarity even as the ruling coalition faces mounting internal and external pressure.

Jemine has brought Nika Natthanitcha into GMMTV as a new talent, saying he feels like he's almost become a talent manager. Twelve-year-old Thai golfer Ugo Chen, of Chinese descent, maintains his lead in the boys division with a two-round total of 3-under-par 141, one stroke ahead of American Yung Hui-Aiden Cho at 2-under-par 142. A legal dispute over alleged misappropriation of temple donation funds has been resolved through mediation at Ranong Provincial Court on August 15, 2569. Former abbot Phra Kru Phattharasorn of Wat Weluwvan temple in Kraburee District, Ranong Province, initially filed complaints against three fundraising committee members—Thanit Buakhaew, Pichay Ohnthes, and Suwit Chanthang—accusing them of embezzling 1,313,331.99 baht in donations from the 2567 robe-offering ceremony.

The three accused responded by countersuing the former abbot for filing false reports and defamation. The court initially accepted the false report charge but dismissed the defamation claim. When the case reached mediation on July 14, the former abbot acknowledged his misunderstanding after reviewing evidence. He confirmed that the three committee members had never used the funds for personal gain but had properly collected and spent the donations on constructing the temple's main chapel as intended. The former abbot publicly apologized to all three defendants and consented to allow them to use the court's findings to clarify the facts to the media and public.

With both sides reaching an understanding and the three plaintiffs agreeing to withdraw their lawsuit, the court approved the dismissal. Suwit Chanthang, who also serves as a local subdistrict council member, later stated that he and the other two committee members had had no contact with the former abbot regarding the matter and were significantly harmed by the false accusations, particularly during local election campaigning. The dispute has now been fully resolved through the court-mediated settlement.
