Mitsubishi Revives Pajero Legend, Thailand Launch Set for October

Mitsubishi Motor Corporation has unveiled the fifth-generation Pajero SUV, a legendary seven-time Paris-Dakar Rally champion, which will debut in Thailand on October 19. The new model carries forward the Pajero legacy by blending off-road confidence and time-tested reliability with premium comfort and refined control, while maintaining the iconic design that appeals to a global customer base.

The All New Mitsubishi Pajero Generation 5 marks a new chapter reflecting two decades of evolution. Designed under the concept "Grand Charisma—Calm and Composed," every element has been carefully crafted to convey powerful yet elegant, premium styling. The vehicle measures 4,920 mm long, 1,925 mm wide, and 1,920 mm tall, with a 2,870 mm wheelbase and 230 mm ground clearance. Weight distribution is balanced at 52:48 front-to-rear, with approach, breakover, and departure angles of 3.4, 22.6, and 25.8 degrees respectively.

The exterior design modernizes horizontal lines from the original Pajero, with large wheel arches emphasizing powerful performance. The front grille comes in two options: a horizontal C-pattern reflecting Japanese craftsmanship and a honeycomb pattern combining aesthetics with function. T-shaped LED headlights are signature elements, while the C-pillars draw inspiration from the original model's roll bar. The cabin features a new single 14.3-inch dual-screen setup maintaining the legendary three-section instrument cluster design. It includes Yamaha Dynamic Sound with 12 speakers and dual amps, and seats crafted using traditional Japanese "kime-komomi" hand-finishing technique for durability. The three-row, seven-seat interior uses camel-brown tones, with the second row sliding 150 mm and single-action fold capability. The third row offers expansive headroom, while front and second-row seats feature ergonomic support and ventilation.

The new Pajero is equipped with comprehensive safety technology and driver-assistance systems including MI-PILOT adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning with automatic braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and curve-assist braking.
