USS Abraham Lincoln Hosts Appreciation Event for Thai Hosts
The USS Abraham Lincoln crew thanked Thai authorities for their hospitality during shore leave in Pattaya and Chon Buri in early September, with the ship's commanding officer expressing hopes for a future return visit.
The USS Abraham Lincoln hosted a thank-you event to praise Thai authorities for their excellent care and support of US Navy personnel. The crew expressed hope to return to visit Thailand and Pattaya again soon. On September 5, 2026, an appreciation party was held on the evening of September 4 at the Renaissance Pattaya Resort and Spa in Chon Buri province to thank Thai agencies that coordinated security and facilitation for the USS Abraham Lincoln crew during their shore leave in Chon Buri and Pattaya between September 2-6, 2026, following completion of their Middle East deployment.
Attendees included representatives from the Royal Thai Police, the US Embassy in Thailand, and related agencies. Chon Buri Governor Narit Niramaivangsul and Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampiches attended and expressed their delight in a friendly atmosphere.
The event was held to thank Thai security officials and agencies that provided integrated security and support for the US Navy crew during their shore leave and tourism activities in Pattaya and Chon Buri.
Captain Dan Keller, commanding officer of USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), revealed that throughout the crew's time in Thailand, they received outstanding hospitality, particularly from Chon Buri and Pattaya. He thanked all parties involved for their excellent care and support from the day of arrival.
Captain Keller also expressed his impression with the reception and sincerely hoped to have the opportunity to bring the crew back to visit Thailand and Pattaya again soon.
