Man Falls From Overpass Onto Truck Roof, Narrowly Escapes Death
A 30-year-old man from Maha Sarakham jumped from an overpass onto a truck in Nonthaburi on September 5, suffering injuries but surviving after his body slid onto the road. CCTV footage contradicted his account of a robbery attempt.
At 10:00 a.m. on September 5, 2025, Ratnathiebsorn Police Station in Nonthaburi received a report of someone jumping from an overpass in front of a shopping mall on Nangvang Road in Bang Khen subdistrict. Officers and rescue personnel from Nonthaburi municipality responded and found an injured man lying on the road near the Phong Phet intersection, heading toward Khlong Preem Prison. The victim was identified as Natthawat, a 30-year-old from Maha Sarakham province, with lacerations on his forehead and abrasions across his body. Rescue staff transported him to Phra Nang Klao Hospital. Nearby, authorities discovered a bronze Isuzu pickup truck with its roof crushed from the impact.
When police visited the injured man at the hospital, he gave an inconsistent and rambling account, claiming that as he was leaving a room, a suspect had pursued him to rob him. He suggested police check his Facebook to identify the suspect. After questioning him, officers contacted his relatives to come to the hospital for ongoing care.
CCTV footage from the scene revealed that at 9:30 a.m., as the pickup truck was passing under the overpass, Natthawat jumped down from the bridge directly onto the truck bed. His body then struck the road, causing his injuries. Fortunately, he was not hit by a vehicle traveling behind the truck.
