Former Election Commissioner Warns Man After Bike-Pushing Assault
A man arrested for allegedly pushing a former election commissioner off his bicycle near Thonglor Police Station was released on 45,000-baht bail, with the victim warning he will pursue additional charges if harassment continues.
On September 5, 2025, Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, a former election commissioner, posted on Facebook about the case of Natthawut Wongniam, who received bail after allegedly pushing Somchai off his bicycle near Thonglor Police Station, injuring him in front of media and police. Natthawut was arrested, fingerprinted, processed, and granted bail of 45,000 baht after receiving police instruction not to reoffend or harass others. Somchai said he was glad Natthawut could return home and hoped he would follow police guidance. He has provided Natthawut's photo to his condominium's management.
Somchai stated that if Natthawut or anyone matching his description appears near the condominium wearing a suit, disguised as a beggar, or loitering during day or night, it will be considered harassment. He urged the building to document any such behavior on camera so he can request Thonglor Police Station to revoke the bail and send Natthawut back to jail. Somchai has also indicated he will pursue the case to its fullest extent and file additional charges of bullying and harassment.
