Wachirpong Koovitjitsuwan, Saraburi MP and chair of the police affairs committee, accused the Pheu Thai Party of spreading panic and creating distractions after the government's popularity declined. He argued their criticism of the "Cabinet Meets the People" programme stems from fear, as the government pushes forward with genuine anti-corruption work, foreign nominee asset seizures, grey-market crackdowns, drug enforcement, and economic stimulus initiatives. Wachirpong contrasted this with Pheu Thai's lack of concrete achievements, saying the party resorts to manufactured outrage and inflammatory rhetoric that the public has grown tired of hearing.
He characterized Pheu Thai's move to discredit the government as merely a distraction game, particularly regarding unsubstantiated claims about senate vote buying that lack evidence linking them to party leadership. He also noted that illegally obtained evidence has led to criminal charges and risks prison sentences for some members. Wachirpong warned that mounting legal troubles—including forex cases under investigation by the Special Cases Investigation Department and foreign nominee capital charges due for hearing on 7 September—are undermining the party's image as a new-generation, reform-minded movement built on integrity and trustworthiness.
