TV Host Defends Friendship Amid Assault Case Court Date

TV host Kanchai Kamneotploy appeared at the Praew Awards 2026 ceremony at Siam Paragon and spoke about a birthday greeting post for Porn Kapon. Kanchai explained that Porn saw the photo and sent him a message joking in their usual style, and he confirmed they have never been angry with each other despite over a decade of close friendship, saying they can joke harshly without issue.

Regarding the case against Poo Mantana, Kanchai revealed that on September 17 he will travel to court for their first face-to-face meeting, as they have not encountered each other before. He stated he is ready to meet and let the justice process proceed accordingly.

Kanchai described the birthday photo as one he carefully selected to show Porn looking his best, with wishes for him to do whatever he wants—eat, travel, settle debts—and enjoy better health in the coming year. He noted that Porn appeared to be a person who suffers before seven days of relief, a reference to Buddhist beliefs about karma.

When asked if Porn had ever been angry, Kanchai said no, explaining that their teasing is something Porn understands as playful banter. He noted that very few people can engage in such unfiltered joking without risk of offense. Kanchai added that while Porn also teases him in return, Porn is careful not to share their private exchanges publicly, as it could backfire. Kanchai joked that their friendship spans decades, from when they both had dark hair to now, with Porn having become respectable.

On a separate matter, Kanchai said he had not yet watched a May Life livestream about being single and knew nothing about it. He confirmed he is ready to face Poo Mantana in court on September 17, noting this will be his first time appearing in person after having previously authorized his lawyer to handle the preliminary examination phase. He emphasized he is prepared to meet and let justice take its course, as there are currently five cases pending.
