Thai Police Invite TV Personality for Questioning After Talk Show
Thong Lor police summoned Pote for questioning after his appearance on the talk show 'Hono Krasae'. Pote expressed regret over past mistakes, including a failed attempt to help a friend finish studies and a misunderstanding with Wave and Chompu, and said he now prefers to step back. Police said the meeting is for information only and he may seek legal counsel.
At 3:30 p.m. on October 16, 2069, reporters said that after the program 'Hono Krasae' ended, Pote, known as 'Nok Jang', gave an interview to waiting media. He said that in the past everyone has made mistakes; it is up to each person to adjust. He added that he has already corrected some issues and cleared others, and hopes to be given another opportunity, apologizing for any real wrongdoing.
When asked what he most wants to correct, Pote said he regrets recommending a friend to study through the non-formal education system (Gor Sor Nor) because the friend was later deceived, causing a lasting rift between them.
Regarding the conflict with Wave and Chompu, Pote admitted he only received information from Wave's side, and although he also got other messages, he always tried to contact Chompu and kept talking with Wave. However, after learning that Chompu's interview revealed that the information he had was not accurate, he said he now believes her story only fifty-fifty and prefers to withdraw.
Pote also mentioned that he asked a friend to obtain a satellite image, which showed the back of a woman. He told Wave that the three of them had gone out together, but admitted he failed to verify the image properly.
Before walking to the Thong Lor Police Station officers waiting outside the Channel 3 building, police informed him that the summons was merely for information, not an arrest. He may consult a lawyer, notify relatives or trusted persons, or seek medical treatment if ill. Under the law and the PDPA, his image and sound must be recorded throughout the journey to the station before meeting investigators.
