Rice Mill Owner Dies After Complaining of Fatigue
A 58-year-old rice mill owner in Buriram province died suddenly from an apparent heart attack after complaining of fatigue for the first time, despite his typically hardworking nature and pre-existing heart condition.
The owner of a newly opened rice mill, a hardworking man, died suddenly while resting on a wooden cot after complaining of exhaustion—unusually, as he never complained before. He is believed to have died from a sudden heart attack.
At 9 a.m. on September 5, 2026, Deputy Sergeant Major Chaiya Kaewgyok, an investigator at Muang Buriram Police Station, received a report of a death at a residence in Moo 7, Ban Semat, Kalan Tao subdistrict, Muang district, Buriram province. Officers and rescue workers rushed to the scene.
The incident occurred at a medium-sized rice mill on a wooden cot inside the building. The body of Vivat, 58, the mill owner, was found. An examination revealed no signs of injury or attack.
A neighbor, Boonchuay, 56, recounted that he had been sitting and having breakfast with Vivat that morning. It was the first time Vivat had complained of feeling tired. After finishing his meal, Vivat asked to rest on the wooden cot. Shortly after, he said he felt hot and could not continue. Boonchuay ran to alert relatives in the village, but when they returned, Vivat was already dead.
Vivat's wife, Poon, 57, said her husband was hardworking and would collect rice from villagers wanting it milled, then deliver it back to them—a routine he followed almost daily with barely any rest. She added that her husband had chronic heart disease and took medication regularly. The combination of hard work likely triggered a fatal heart attack.
