Mother Surrenders After Abandoning Newborn in Garbage Bin

A 28-year-old woman has surrendered to police and confessed to being the biological mother of a newborn boy who was abandoned in a trash bin. She claimed she was shocked after giving birth to a baby who was not breathing and made no sound, believing the child was dead, and placed the body in a black bag in a community garbage bin.

An update on the case: a newborn boy was discovered in a black bag in a trash bin on Suan Pa Siri Kitti Road, Chiang Noen Subdistrict, Muang Rayong District, in the early morning hours of August 2.

On September 5, 2025, the 28-year-old woman came forward to Muang Rayong Police Station investigator Police Sergeant Thongdao Khotrakhlak to confess that she was the biological mother of the abandoned newborn.

During questioning, the woman stated that on the night of the incident she was riding a motorcycle to visit a friend but decided to turn back while passing through an alley and return home because she was experiencing abdominal pain. She stopped at a convenience store to buy sanitary pads and a drink.

Once home, her abdominal pain worsened and she gave birth by herself. After delivery, she found the baby was not breathing and made no sound. Believing the child had died, she was shocked and placed the baby's body in a black bag, abandoning it in the trash bin at the scene before scrap collector Meechoke found the child and notified residents to provide assistance in time.

Following the incident, police investigators reviewed security camera footage from various locations and identified leads that led them to the 28-year-old woman. When the woman learned she was a suspect, she decided to go to the police station and voluntarily confess.

Police initially brought the suspect in for further detailed questioning to proceed with legal charges.
