Prince of Songkla University has been ranked sixth among Thai universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027, placing it in the 1201-1400 band globally out of 2,297 institutions. The university scored between 30.5 and 33.2 overall, with particular strength in industry engagement and research quality. The ranking evaluates teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook using balanced performance indicators.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 were announced on September 30, 2026, with Prince of Songkla University ranked sixth among Thailand's top universities and positioned in the 1201-1400 range out of 2,297 institutions worldwide, scoring between 30.5 and 33.2 overall. THE's global ranking is the only one that assesses research-oriented universities across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook, using carefully compared performance indicators to ensure comprehensive and balanced results trusted by students, scholars, university leaders, industry and government. The university's performance in the five indicators is: Teaching 29.5% weight, average score 24.1%; Research environment 29% weight, average 18.8%; Research quality 30% weight, average 43.5%; International outlook 7.5% weight, average 37.2%; Industry 4% weight, average 57.5%.
