Actress Thuk Mayura Stranded in Bangkok Flood for Five Days
Actress Thuk Mayura has been stuck in her Bangkok home for five days due to flooding. In a video she answered critics who questioned whether she should accept free food aid, emphasizing that flood victims are ordinary people who need help. She urged solidarity and hoped the waters would recede soon.
In a video posted on September 30, 2022, Thuk Mayura described being trapped in her home in the Nuanthani Seree Thai 59 village, where flooding has left the area underwater for five to six days. She explained that her neighbourhood is the lowest point, with water reaching waist‑high outside her gate, though her house itself remains dry. While she has enough supplies to get by, she noted that others nearby are suffering much more. She expressed frustration that people enjoying meals and shopping in the city seem unaware of the hardship faced by locals in places such as Klong Chan flat, Ramkhamhaeng, and Siam Garden. Thuk Mayura said she has been adjusting to life without going out, doing makeup for the first time in days to film a clip for her staff and to promote her Ura product. She thanked officials from the Khan Na Yao district for delivering food donations, which she and neighbours have received, and stressed that accepting the aid does not make her any less of a regular person. She urged netizens to understand that flood victims are ordinary people who need compassion, and she called for everyone to stay strong and hope the waters will recede soon.
