Actress Mai Davika Urges Flood Victims, Plans Emergency Savings
Actress Mai Davika urged flood victims to stay strong following severe Bangkok flooding, revealing she's planning to save aggressively and potentially relocate her family to another province if conditions worsen.
Following severe flooding in Bangkok and its surrounding areas from continuous heavy rainfall, actress Mai Davika Horstmann attended the FEED x Khaosod Awards 2026 at Icon Siam to share her thoughts on the crisis and offer encouragement to affected residents.
"I want to give strength to everyone who has been affected," she said. "I understand what you're going through and hope this situation ends quickly."
Regarding her own home, she reported that water has reached the front of her property but has not entered the house yet. "Today the water seems to be receding, but I don't know what will happen in the future. Am I worried? Yes, I am, if it gets worse than this."
When asked about contingency plans if Bangkok experiences severe flooding, Mai Davika outlined her strategy: "I'm thinking about it. What I can do right now is work and earn money, save up a substantial amount. If we need to relocate to another province, we'll have enough assets to buy a house or move the family elsewhere."
She explained that this plan has been forming in her mind because many people have been sharing their concerns about such possibilities. "I don't know what will happen in the next 20 or 30 years, so we can't be sure. This is a time to earn and save aggressively in case we need to buy another house," she said.
When asked if she had any particular provinces in mind, she replied that she hasn't thought that far yet. "I'm a Bangkok person, so I'm not sure where I'd go."
She also mentioned that her home has only been in her current location for four years, and she has invested heavily in it, which is why she hadn't previously considered relocating. However, she acknowledged that circumstances can change.
On the broader issue, Mai Davika stressed that flood relief should extend beyond Bangkok. "This isn't just affecting our homes or just Bangkok. It happens every year in many provinces, so help should be distributed to all affected areas, not just the capital. I want to give strength to everyone."
