Bhumjaithai Spokesperson Rejects Opposition Call on Flood Debate
Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson Nan Bunthida Somchai dismissed opposition calls for Prime Minister Anutin to attend parliament's flood debate, saying the government is focused on managing floods across multiple provinces. She said the administration is ready to answer any no-confidence questions but its priority remains flood relief. Nan noted that several ministers were present at the September 30 flood motion meeting, refuting claims that only the prime minister needed to attend.
Nan Bunthida Somchai, speaking as the Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson, said she expected the opposition to file a no-confidence debate in October. She stressed that the government is concentrating on flood relief in many provinces and is prepared to answer all questions, though its main focus remains flood management. Regarding the opposition leader's post showing Anutin inspecting a Bhumjaithai kitchen and demanding his presence in parliament for the flood motion, Nan noted that the September 30 flood debate meeting was attended by several ministers, including herself, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Phiradprasit Prasananantakul, and Deputy Minister of Interior Worasit Liangprasert. She argued that it is inaccurate to say only the prime minister must attend, explaining that many officials have multiple duties and regularly brief the prime minister, who continues to work on solving the flood problem. She affirmed that the government takes parliamentary work seriously.
