Songkhla University Ranked Top 100 Global in Hospitality and Tourism
Prince of Songkhla University ranks 76-100 globally in Hospitality and Tourism, making it the only Thai university in the top 100 for this field in the 2026 Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects.
Prince of Songkhla University has been ranked 76-100 globally and third in Asia for Hospitality and Tourism in the 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), administered by Shanghai Ranking. It is the only Thai university to achieve a ranking in this field. Additionally, the university ranked 101-150 globally in Food Science & Technology (first in Thailand) and 301-400 globally in Education (second in Thailand).
Shanghai Ranking began evaluating universities by academic discipline in 2009, formally adopting the name GRAS in 2016. The ranking system assesses leading universities across 57 disciplines within five major groups: natural sciences, engineering, biological sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. Evaluation is based on nine concrete indicators across five dimensions: global faculty quality, global research output, high-quality research, research impact, and international collaboration.
Annually, GRAS evaluates approximately 20,000 programs from roughly 2,000 universities across nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide, reflecting the academic excellence and potential of institutions in various disciplines at the international level.
