Nonthaburi Governor Race: Incumbent's Grandson Wins by 50,000 Votes
Nuphand Yenpraseurt, grandson of the late Nonthaburi administrator, won the provincial election with 193,653 votes, defeating his nearest rival by 55,000 votes in a race to fill the vacancy.
Nonthaburi Provincial Election Commission released unofficial results on September 21 from the September 20 vote to select a new Provincial Administrator, held to fill the vacancy caused by the death of former administrator Thongchai Yenpraseurt. Six candidates competed in the race.
Official results in order of votes received: 1. Nuphand Yenpraseurt (Royal Hive Group): 193,653 votes 2. Decharat Sukkamaenid (Thai Democrats Party): 138,274 votes 3. Tham Pakbor (Independent): 7,376 votes 4. General Nipand Seetabut (Independent): 3,770 votes 5. Chutiphand Pinmani (Independent): 1,961 votes 6. Nontphand Papatproncharoen (Independent): 1,263 votes
Total eligible voters: 1,075,199. Turnout: 376,278 voters. Valid ballots: 346,297. Spoiled ballots: 5,296. Blank ballots: 24,685.
