On August 9, 2025, opposition party coordinators led by Pheu Thai list-system MP Prisut Vatchrasindu held a detailed evidence review of the senate fraud case at Parliament, examining financial trails and political connections. Participants included Sumutsaprakar Pheu Thai MP Panida Mongkolsawat, ilaw director Yingluck Akharatanont, Bunyanucha Matthuchak, and political science academic Purwich Wattanasuk from Thammasat University.

Purwich noted that the 2017 Constitution's senate selection process was predictable because National Legislative Assembly meeting minutes from November 30, 2017 (pages 57-87) discussed the self-selection system's origins. Nine years earlier, at least two former NLA members had questioned the selection process, noting that all 77 provinces would send 3,080 candidates. One NLA member remarked it was easy to control: contacting 754 people across five lanes would secure enough senators, and controlling just 39 provinces would guarantee victory. This reflected how the system enabled vote-buying and collusion from the start.

Purwich further noted that a former NLA member described vote-blocking tactics used in similar self-selection processes, where participants had already been instructed whom to vote for rather than making independent choices. For parties controlling regions, charging 2,500 baht per candidate with groups of 100 voters meant only pre-selected targets would advance. The documents contained a former NLA member's quote that "this process could seize the country with 5 billion baht," and another using the term "kamikaze" to describe such operations nine years ago. "This system was designed to make fraud and collusion easy," Purwich concluded. "It opens the door to exactly what witnesses described, and the scheme has evolved far beyond what was warned about nine years ago."
