Actress Bua Sets Wedding Date For Year-End

Thai actress Bua Nalinthip plans to marry late this year and is halfway through wedding preparations, preferring a simple dress style over elaborate designs.

2h ago Khaosod

Actress Bua Nalinthip has set her wedding date for late this year and praised her fiancé for being extremely thoughtful. She wants to enjoy married life first and is not rushing to have children, revealing why she chose him. After becoming an engaged woman in the public eye, actress Bua Nalinthip recently appeared at a press conference to launch the series "Rak" at Major Cineplex Sukhumvit (Ekamai) theater, where she updated fans on her wedding date, which is expected to be sometime late this year, and discussed her preparations for becoming a bride.

How far along are the wedding preparations? "We're getting close now (laughs), but I still think it'll probably be around late this year. Please stay tuned," she said.

How far have the preparations progressed? "About halfway there. Right now we're trying on dresses. I just got back from Vietnam and secretly tried on some dresses there."

Are the dresses imported? "We're still looking at when to use them."

Vietnamese wedding dresses must be quite extravagant, right? "Yes, they have such trendy designs. We're still deciding and haven't confirmed anything yet."

What style does Bua want? "Actually, I prefer keeping it simple, easy, and comfortable—minimal style. I don't want something overly elaborate with a big puffy skirt."

But between the marriage proposal and preparing to be a bride, which was more exciting? "The proposal felt thrilling, but now I'm starting to feel stressed (laughs). It's worrying because I'm afraid of how things will turn out."

How do you two discuss the wedding preparations? "We consult about everything."

Who makes the final decisions? "We decide together. When we go dress shopping, he comes along too. He helps us decide what he likes."

Are you tired as a bride-to-be now? "I am tired. The most exhausting part is all the tiny details—choosing venues, picking dresses. We've had some minor disagreements, though not serious ones. But there's a lot to handle."

When you disagree, who gives in? "He does. It's pretty much settled (smiles)."

Does he back down during disagreements? "No, we discuss things logically."

What's your relationship like? What kind of couple are you? "Actually, at first I felt we were complete opposites in many ways. I wasn't sure if we'd get along, but once we started talking, it just clicked easily. He's a sweet person, and I appreciate his consistency. He takes good care of me."

Is your boyfriend very open-minded about the entertainment industry? "Yes, he understands."

Is it all new for him? How did he react to the news breaking and being introduced to the public? "He was shy about it. He became 'the second male lead' and got teased for it. At his office, they teased him too."

How do you comfort him about becoming the 'second male lead'? "I didn't comfort him much. He's fine with it."

Do your friends say anything about what you should do after marriage—whether you should retire or take a break? "No, after marriage I'll stay the same. I'll keep working as I have been. Right now we're also planning on setting up a home."

Are you working on a new house? "We're just starting that."

Will that timing work with your work schedule? "I think it might not be finished in time, but we're not rushing anyway. I feel the house should come together gradually. I don't want to force anything."

Are you living together now? "Every day."

Now that you're about to change your status from girlfriend to fiancée, are you getting used to it? "Not yet (laughs). I still introduce him as my boyfriend or fiancé. It feels embarrassing."

Are you preparing yourself? You used to live alone, and now you'll wake up to see him every day? "Actually, I don't think it's that dramatic. For me, he feels more like someone who completes me. I don't feel like someone is invading my life."

What made you fall for him? "Me? I'm beautiful like this, I'm an actress! (laughs) But honestly, we just clicked when we talked. It's like we found a comfortable space together."

Explore Chumphon Archipelago National Park

Chumphon Archipelago National Park spans over 40 islands with world-class snorkeling and diving at coral reefs, plus rare sightings of whale sharks and Bryde's whales. The park's best diving season runs February to April, with only five per

2h ago Khaosod

On July 2, 2025, Khemchat Chuaymuang, director of Chumphon Archipelago National Park, outlined tourism in the area. The archipelago comprises over 40 islands, with most visitors opting for day trips featuring coral diving activities. Matra Island stands out as a highlight with abundant horseshoe crabs, white sandy beaches interspersed with rocky outcrops, and pristine shallow coral reefs.

The park offers three underwater nature study routes: snorkeling at Ngam Yai and Matra Islands, and deep diving at Lak Ngam Island. Visitors learn about coral reef ecosystems and their interconnected life forms. The best season for diving is February to April, when seas are calm, water is clear, and visibility is excellent for photography.

The Chumphon waters also offer rare sightings of whale sharks and Bryde's whales near the smaller islands. Additionally, a decommissioned naval ship has been sunk to create an artificial reef for deep diving near Ngam Noi Island.

Park management controls visitor numbers and boat mooring to protect coral areas, with operators cooperating with park regulations. Currently, only about 5 percent of corals show bleaching from climate change. The park is preparing rehabilitation plans, with corals expected to recover if seawater temperatures stabilize, though recovery may take considerable time.

Presong Santiwimon, head of recreation services, recommends visiting Langka Jiao Island, featuring white sand beaches, clear waters, and beautiful coral reefs visible from shore. This historic island was visited three times by King Rama V to observe swiftlet nest collection. The island bears royal inscriptions dated 1432, 1441, and 1448 Buddhist Era. The island once held a swiftlet harvesting concession, now expired.

Admission fees: Thai adults 40 baht, children 20 baht; foreign adults 200 baht, children 100 baht. For more information, call 077-558-144 or visit the Chumphon Archipelago National Park Facebook page.

Thailand Revives Hua Hin-Kuala Lumpur Direct Flights

Thailand is upgrading Hua Hin Airport to resume international flights, with plans to relaunch direct service to Kuala Lumpur following runway safety improvements and a July workshop with tourism operators.

2h ago Khaosod

Deputy Transport Minister Pattrapong Pattharathsin announced progress on upgrading Hua Hin Airport into an international aviation and tourism hub. Following an inspection on May 28, 2025, and the implementation of policies to resolve technical runway issues in line with Thai Civil Aviation Authority safety standards, the government is preparing to launch full international flight services. The Transport Ministry, Airports Authority, Thai AirAsia, and Tourism Authority of Thailand are collaborating to expand regional air connectivity as part of the government's economic stimulus initiative for the region.

The government recognizes Hua Hin's strong economic and tourism potential and has decided to pursue international flights. On July 3, 2025, Pattrapong will chair the "Market Insights and Customer Insights Workshop" alongside the Tourism and Sports Minister to prepare for reopening international routes to Hua Hin, organized by Thai AirAsia.

The workshop will bring together over 100 local tourism and service businesses to gather insights on key topics: presenting Hua Hin Airport's readiness and development plans for future international flights, analyzing Hua Hin's potential tourism products and services to attract visitors, and understanding foreign tourists' interests and activities to develop short and long-term tourism programs.

According to Pattrapong, Airports Authority data from 2018-2020, before the COVID-19 crisis, showed that Hua Hin Airport successfully served Thai AirAsia's Hua Hin-Kuala Lumpur route with strong passenger response: over 1,000 flights carrying more than 130,000 passengers. This workshop represents a crucial step to evaluate feasibility and prepare to reopen the Hua Hin-Kuala Lumpur route and explore other possible international routes.

Coordination between the Transport Ministry, Airports Authority, and related agencies will foster mutual understanding among government, private sector, and local businesses. The Transport Ministry commits full support for infrastructure and facilitation to prepare Hua Hin for international flight development, strengthening competitiveness and positioning Hua Hin as a world-class destination in the long term.

Singapore Woman Claims Lizard Remains Found In Fried Rice

A Singapore woman discovered what she believes are lizard remains in fried rice from a shopping mall restaurant on June 28, prompting a food safety investigation despite the establishment finding no evidence of contamination.

2h ago Khaosod

A Singapore woman has disclosed a shocking incident while eating fried rice from a well-known street food restaurant after discovering what she claims to be lizard remains mixed into her meal. The unnamed customer reported ordering from a branch located inside a Singapore shopping mall on June 28. After eating only about three spoonfuls, she noticed something unusual in the dish and believed it to be the remains of a reptile, forcing her to stop eating immediately. She contacted the restaurant's customer service, left the meal, and demanded accountability from the business. Initially, the restaurant offered two complimentary meals as compensation, but she refused and requested a full refund, stating she would not return to the establishment. The restaurant subsequently conducted an internal inspection, reviewed CCTV footage, and engaged a pest control company to inspect the premises. The investigation found no traces of reptiles within the restaurant. The company stated that food is prepared fresh and served according to food safety standards, with no evidence suggesting animal contamination from within the branch. However, Singapore's food safety authority has been notified and is conducting its own investigation, stating that if sufficient evidence is found, legal action will be taken without hesitation. Food safety is considered a shared responsibility between operators and regulatory agencies. The investigation is ongoing.

Drunk Man Rescued From Water Tank After Climbing Inside

A drunk motorcyclist was rescued from a 500-liter water tank in Khon Kaen after climbing inside while intoxicated; he walked away unharmed after being extracted by emergency responders.

2h ago Khaosod

At 6 a.m. on July 2, rescue workers from the Khon Kaen Charity Foundation and Muang Khon Kaen police responded to a call about a man trapped in a water tank on Pimsutr Road in Khon Kaen Municipality. Officers found an unidentified man standing in a 500-liter water tank with only his head above the water. Despite attempts to rouse him, he remained unresponsive. Rescue personnel disconnected the water pipe and drained the tank before tilting it to the ground and extracting him.

Monthon Kant, 44, explained that she was alerted by an employee who discovered the man. The employee was alarmed, fearing he was dead because he remained motionless. When called out to, the man began moving his head. Neighbors then contacted police for assistance. Officers found him swaying inside the tank, prompting them to drain it for safer extraction.

After being pulled from the tank, the man walked to the roadside and rode away on his motorcycle. Upon questioning, he revealed he had been drinking at a social gathering and became intoxicated. He parked his motorcycle at the alley entrance, climbed the fence, opened the tank lid, removed it to the side of a dormitory, and climbed into the tank. The incident was fortunate—had he lost his balance and fallen into the full tank, he could have drowned. Though the man's identity remains unknown, witnesses confirmed he works as a motorcycle taxi driver. Everyone expressed relief that he survived without drowning.

Man Breaks 40-Year Silence on Childhood Trauma

A podcast guest breaks 40 years of silence about childhood abuse, urging adults to listen when children disclose trauma and emphasizing that survivors—not perpetrators—should speak out.

2h ago Khaosod

In a deep conversation on the Khomkhao Story Podcast EP.106, Poh Patiyya discusses childhood abuse and the 40-year secret he kept about a traumatic incident. When asked if he tried telling trusted adults at the time, he explained that he attempted to speak up but no one listened. He conveyed his message to adults: "Listen to your children first," because the pain of disclosing such trauma is immense and it's not something people discuss easily.

Poh described his fear of not being believed, worried that if adults didn't take him seriously they wouldn't love him anymore. He noted he didn't tell his parents initially—not because he tried and failed, but because he didn't know how. He told his nanny, the housekeeper, and others, but kept it from his parents who were distant; his father worked constantly and discussing such matters was taboo in that era, 50 years prior.

He described feeling confused about what had happened to him, unable to articulate that something was wrong. The trauma manifested in specific triggers: the sound of car window curtains closing now causes him severe distress after all these years. He developed coping mechanisms born of helplessness and hopelessness—refusing to bathe so he'd smell bad and be left alone, or making himself as small and invisible as possible while desperately wanting someone to notice.

After 40 years, Poh decided to speak publicly to become a voice for millions of other survivors and to ensure children in his own family feel safe coming forward. He stressed that while not everyone can safely disclose their trauma, those who can must speak—because the wrongdoers should hide, not the victims. He emphasized this isn't about blaming his mother, but about breaking cycles of silence and protecting future generations.

Lawmakers Push for Live-Streamed Parliamentary Committee Meetings

A Bangkok MP and civil society group are pushing Parliament to live-stream all committee meetings to boost transparency and public engagement in Thailand's legislative process.

2h ago Khaosod

On July 2, 2025, at Parliament, Sasinanthan Thamnitinanthan, a Bangkok MP from the People's Party and member of the Political Development, Media, and Public Participation Committee, received a letter from Vara Chanmani, secretary-general of the Strong People's Network, requesting live broadcasts of all parliamentary committee meetings.

Vara explained that parliamentary committees serve as vital mechanisms for investigating and resolving issues directly affecting public and societal concerns. However, citizens lack awareness of their work, prompting this request. He emphasized that all committee meetings should be broadcast except where confidentiality is required.

This initiative aims to encourage public participation, increase transparency in problem-solving, and strengthen democratic development by positioning the Thai Parliament as a truly open and people-centered institution.

Sassinanthan affirmed that the People's Party previously submitted amendments to parliamentary rules on this issue, believing all committee meetings are important and that public access to each committee's distinct agenda would benefit citizens. She stated she will coordinate with relevant agencies to proceed with the proposal.

A coconut water vendor narrowly escaped death after suffering electrical shock from a faulty coconut processing machine in a police dormitory at Soi Chula 34, Wang Mai Subdistrict, Pathumwan District, Bangkok, on July 2, 2025. Emergency services received the report and rushed to the scene, where they found the 36-year-old Laotian worker unconscious near his coconut juice stand. Officers from Pathumwan Police Station, including Chakraphon Ritbua, Yutthapong Pimchaishri, Shivakorn Hemratchdanon, and Artit Jitdamhari, along with volunteers from the Rajkanya Foundation, immediately began CPR to save his life.

When advanced life support (ALS) paramedics from Chulalongkorn Hospital arrived, they took over care of the patient. Preliminary investigation suggests the electrical shock came from a malfunctioning coconut machine the vendor was operating at the time.

Pathumwan Police will coordinate with relevant agencies to thoroughly inspect the electrical equipment and wiring at the scene to prevent similar accidents in the future.
