The Department of Tourism will participate in the American Film Market 2026 (AFM 2026), the world's largest film trade market, from November 10–15 in Los Angeles. Director-General Chaturon Phakdeewanich stated the goal is to position Thailand as a World-Class Film Destination, create business opportunities, and expand cooperation with U.S. production companies. The U.S. is the most important market for Thailand's film industry, and the continuous arrival of American film crews reflects confidence in Thailand's diverse locations, skilled workforce, and government support. In the first ten months of 2026, U.S. film productions invested over 2.736 billion baht in Thailand. The department's booth will highlight Thailand's varied shooting locations — natural landscapes, architecture, cultural sites, and stand-in locations — along with studio facilities and internationally recognized Thai crews. The cash rebate incentive of up to 30 percent will be a key promotion. The department expects AFM 2026 to generate negotiations and attract U.S. and other foreign productions worth more than 2 billion baht, boosting revenue for the film, tourism, and related industries while creating jobs and distributing income to local communities nationwide.
