Agoda Expands Bangkok Tech Hub, Hires 4,500 Skilled Workers
Agoda has established its largest regional office in Bangkok, employing over 4,500 skilled workers and positioning the city as its global tech and operations hub. The BOI highlighted Thailand’s strong talent pool and supportive visa policies that enable the company to draw international experts alongside Thai staff. The hub focuses on software development, AI, and data science, with innovations from Thailand powering Agoda’s worldwide platform.
The BOI is actively engaging with Agoda to link its global accommodation network of over six million properties across more than 200 countries, establishing Bangkok as the site of its largest regional office and supporting the employment of over 4,500 skilled personnel.
Narit Thaodseerisak, Secretary-General of the BOI, disclosed after touring Agoda Services Limited and meeting with CEO Omri Morgenshtern and the executive team at the One Bangkok office in Bangkok on October 6, 2026, that Agoda is a travel technology company under Booking Holdings and one of the world’s largest online accommodation platforms, offering over six million properties in more than 200 countries and territories, supporting 39 languages, and employing more than 8,000 staff worldwide in 25 countries.
Thailand serves as Agoda’s most important talent base, with over 4,500 permanent employees — the largest among Agoda’s global offices — accounting for more than half of its total workforce.
Bangkok pinned as Global Tech & Operations Hub. Agoda has received investment promotion from the BOI for its International Business Center (IBC), using Thailand as the base for its regional office, which is the company’s largest office worldwide, functioning as the group’s Global Tech & Operations Hub.
Located in the One Bangkok project, the office occupies seven floors, totaling over 30,000 square meters, and employs more than 4,500 staff. It serves as a key base for software development, algorithms, artificial intelligence (AI), and data science, with innovations developed in Thailand deployed to drive the company’s platform in global markets.
Narit Thaodseerisak said the key factors enabling Thailand to assume this role are its pool of high‑skill talent in fields such as data analysis, information and communications technology, engineering, and business administration, together with an open work culture that fosters collaboration among multinational staff.
By combining Thai expertise with international talent, the company can undertake high‑value, complex activities in Thailand while creating opportunities for knowledge transfer, skill upgrading, and long‑term development of the country’s technology ecosystem.
Furthermore, the BOI cooperates with the Immigration Bureau and the Department of Employment to facilitate visas and work permits through the One‑Stop Thailand Investment and Expat Service Center (TIESC) located in the One Bangkok building, enabling Agoda’s overseas experts to work smoothly with Thai teams and supporting ongoing international training, coordination, and travel.
The Tech Talent hub opens pathways for Thais to access the global stage. A notable feature of Agoda’s presence in Thailand is the creation of a workspace where highly skilled Thai and foreign employees collaborate under international standards, exchanging knowledge and technology. Currently, Agoda employs over 4,500 people in Thailand, more than half of whom are Thai, while foreign staff number around 2,000 and come from more than 80 countries.
Establishing such a business base in Thailand opens doors for Thais to engage in complex technology and business roles ranging from software engineering, data science, and AI to product management, marketing, and international business administration, allowing them to learn global workflows, standards, and problem‑solving methods, and to build networks with professionals from many nations.
