Sa Kaeo police, together with immigration officials and military rangers, launched a proactive operation to inspect risky border areas after receiving information from locals that a group of Cambodians had crossed the border illegally and were residing in the kingdom without authorization. Investigators learned that the suspects were staying in the Rong Kluea Market area of Aranyaprathet district, specifically in a 200‑room community in Moo 7, Tambon Pai Rai. Officers surrounded the community, checked the residents and detained 26 Cambodians—23 men and three women—who had neither entry permits nor work authorization. The detainees were taken to the Khlong Luek police station for further legal processing. The operation, overseen by Pol Lt Gen Wasan Tacha-akraket of Region 2, Pol Maj Gen Kittipong Wisessanuwan of Sa Kaeo Provincial Police, and other senior officials, aimed to tighten immigration controls, prevent unlawful entry, and maintain safety and order in the border region.

Thai Chamber Urges Upgrade of Suvarnabhumi Air Cargo System

Thai business leaders urged the Transport Minister to unlock and upgrade the Suvarnabhumi air cargo system, proposing short‑, medium‑ and long‑term measures to ease chronic congestion. They said air cargo handled about 5.53 trillion baht of trade in the first seven months of 2025, with exports worth roughly 2.42 trillion baht, and that delays caused by weather and procedural bottlenecks had disrupted supply chains. The chamber’s recommendations focus on improving X‑ray screening, expanding cargo yards, boosting manpower and equipment, and strengthening inter‑agency coordination.
