Flash flood and mudslide struck two villages in Wang Saphung district, Loei province, prompting authorities to urge residents to closely monitor water levels while two other villages hurriedly moved belongings to higher ground. At 10:00 a.m. on October 6, 2026, reporters said heavy rain in Wang Saphung district, especially in Khuan Luang subdistrict, caused flash floods that inundated homes, particularly in Yang Dyang village (Moo 10) and Na Luang village (Moo 9). The fast‑flowing flood swept mud into village streets and houses before receding within an hour. District Chief Yotsawat Phatcharasakkul ordered damage surveys in Khuan Luang subdistrict, finding floodwater entered about seven houses in Yang Dyang and around eight houses in Na Luang. He directed local disaster‑prevention teams to deploy water trucks and machinery to clean flood‑ and mud‑affected homes. Relief efforts have been assigned to the Khuan Luang subdistrict mayor, the disaster‑prevention and mitigation team, and the district security deputy, together with village heads, to assist affected residents and assess damage to houses and farmland. Meanwhile, village leaders from Khon Kaen and Ban Non Sawang warned residents to keep monitoring water levels and move possessions to higher ground, adding that if water levels continue to rise and heavy rain persists, officials will issue immediate alerts via the Cell Broadcast Service.
