Cabinet Moves Meeting to Wednesday for IMF-World Bank Talks
Thailand's Cabinet has moved its weekly meeting to Wednesday, October 14, to accommodate the upcoming IMF-World Bank summit. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul urged ministries to speed up flood relief, including free towing for submerged vehicles and repairs for water-damaged cars. The government also declared special work-from-home days in Bangkok from October 12 to 16.
On October 6, 2026, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul spent over an hour briefing the Cabinet on the nationwide flood situation, stressing the need to assist affected citizens. He directed the Ministry of Transport to provide free towing services for vehicles submerged in floodwaters and the Ministry of Education to help repair water-damaged vehicles. Anutin also ordered agencies to streamline relief procedures to make assistance more accessible. In addition, the Cabinet announced that its weekly meeting, originally set for Tuesday, October 13, would be moved to Wednesday, October 14, because of the IMF-World Bank meeting scheduled for October 12-18, and declared special work-from-home days for Bangkok on October 12, 14, 15, and 16.
