Thai Singer Praises 16-Year-Old Nene's AGT 2026 Win
Thai teen Nene Royal won America's Got Talent 2026, earning praise from local singer Tu Phop who highlighted her exceptional guitar and vocal abilities that surpass many adult performers.
Sixteen-year-old Nene Royal, a Thai performer, has won the America's Got Talent 2026 championship on the world stage. Singer Tu Phop, who has followed her work since the competition began, shared his thoughts on her exceptional abilities for her age.
Tu Phop said he has tracked Nene since the competition started and found her remarkably talented. He initially thought she was from the Philippines because of her excellent English singing and guitar skills. He noted that even before her victory, he considered her performance outstanding, and was thrilled to learn she received approximately 90 percent of the American votes. "I'm proud of her even though I don't know her personally," he said.
As a singer himself, Tu Phop highlighted several qualities he observed. "She entertains people incredibly well for a 16-year-old. She knows how to handle audiences and manage dynamics. Her guitar playing and singing far exceed her age. Even adult performers cannot compete with her level. She placed first in AGT."
When asked about her determination, Tu Phop praised not only Nene's fighting spirit—balancing competition, school, and work—but also her parents' support. "Her heart is genuine. I have to commend both her dedication and her parents for supporting her along this path. Everyone has seen her success."
Tu Phop reflected on the broader impact of her victory. "Beyond tourism attractions, this opens doors for various Thai artists. It shows the world we have special talent at home. Besides Lisa, there are many others capable of achieving international success like Nene."
When the judges complimented not just Nene but her country, Tu Phop saw it as motivation for Thailand to showcase more of its strengths globally—from Muay Thai to other distinctive talents. Looking ahead, he emphasized the importance of following up with quality work to maintain momentum. "I hope her family and she make wise decisions about her future," he said. "She has the maturity to choose what is best for herself. She is a tremendous source of pride for Thai people."
