Suwat Luang Trakul, Director of Sports Science at the Sports Authority of Thailand, stated that sports nutrition plays a crucial role in athlete performance by preparing the body for training and competition, aiding recovery, and maintaining peak physical condition. He praised Ajinomoto's expertise in sports nutrition and the company's understanding of athletes' dietary needs, saying that combining this expertise with the Sports Authority's athlete development experience ensures targeted, comprehensive, and sustainable nutritional support aimed at preparing Thai athletes for success on the international stage.
Ichiro Sagakura, General Manager of the Food Products Division at Ajinomoto Co., Inc., explained that as a global food company, Ajinomoto believes food can bring joy and promote health and well-being through its AminoScience expertise. The Victory Project was launched in Japan in 2003 to address the importance of proper nutrition in preparing athletes' bodies, supporting recovery, and maintaining daily readiness. Since 2018, the programme has expanded to the ASEAN region and Latin America, including Thailand, adapting the company's nutritional expertise to meet the specific needs of athletes in each country.
The programme currently supports athletes across various sports and competitions with customized nutrition designed for individual needs, covering preparation and recovery for holistic health. Its ultimate goal is to help athletes build strong, healthy bodies and achieve complete readiness to overcome challenges and reach their intended goals, embodying the "Eat Well, Live Well" philosophy through sports. For the 2026 Asian Games, support will span both preparation and competition phases, beginning with over 3,000 "Winning Meals" served at the Thai House venue.
