Bangkok — Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has responded to reports that the US government is investigating and considering sanctions against 28 people allegedly connected to scam networks and human trafficking in Southeast Asia. The reported list includes Vorapak Tanyawong, a former deputy finance minister who served during Anutin's previous administration. "I saw the name," Anutin said. He added that anyone facing allegations should retain legal counsel and seek to establish the facts and clear themselves if they were not involved. Anutin said the matter was separate from the Thai government. Asked about the US call for the Thai government to expedite an investigation, Anutin responded: "Which government? Not this government."
