Hua Hin Orders Demolition of Illegal Structures from September 25
Hua Hin authorities will begin demolishing illegal beachfront structures on September 25 after owners ignored a Supreme Administrative Court order to remove buildings from public land.
On September 16, Nopphorn Wuttikul, Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, chaired a meeting to coordinate the demolition of structures along Hua Hin Beach between Fish Bridge and Mae Thap Thim Shrine. The meeting followed a final judgment from the Supreme Administrative Court against building owners who have not removed illegal structures from public land. Owners were given 30 days from receiving written notice to comply, but none have reported doing so to the municipality. Officials have hired contractors to begin the demolition on September 25, 2026. After the meeting, teams posted notices in the Fish Bridge area warning owners at least seven days before demolition begins. Authorities are explaining the legal process and seeking cooperation to conduct the operation lawfully and fairly. Multiple agencies are participating, including the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Land Office, Hua Hin District, Hua Hin Provincial Police, the Land Department, and Hua Hin Municipality.
