BANGKOK — Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the flooded Khlong Chan Housing Estate in Bang Kapi district on September 27, 2026, travelling by boat to deliver relief bags to residents as floodwater reached about 1.5 metres.
Anutin arrived at around 18:00 to inspect the flood situation in the Khlong Chan area. He was briefed by Deputy Commissioner-General Samran Nuanma of the Royal Thai Police.
The prime minister met with rescue volunteers assisting residents affected by flooding. He later met Energy Minister Eknat Promphan and members of the Sud Soi volunteer team, who were helping flood victims and evacuating vulnerable residents from areas with high water levels.
Anutin boarded a boat to distribute relief bags directly to residents at the housing complex. Residents came out to receive essential supplies and dry food while the prime minister offered encouragement.
Residents requested urgent assistance with two water pumps to remove floodwater from the buildings' pump rooms, citing a shortage of clean water for daily use. Anutin asked for specifications so the equipment would meet their needs.
During the visit, a resident was heard shouting at Anutin asking why he had come. Staff responded by noting that water supplies were being provided, with personnel positioning themselves between the man and the prime minister.
As Anutin departed, residents stood on balconies calling out along his route. Government agencies including military, police, and Interior Ministry personnel were deployed to help residents travel by boat, and The Mall Group also distributed relief supplies.
