Man Reports Boiling Water Sounds from House Drain Pipe

A resident of Pak Kret in Nonthaburi reported hearing boiling-water sounds and feeling intense heat from a household drainage pipe, with steam making the area too hot to stand on barefoot. He said the temperature has risen daily since early October and urged officials to investigate the mysterious source. Authorities have not yet determined the cause, though the man rules out chemical contamination.

The man said he first noticed warmth near the pipe on the evening of October 1, and the temperature increased each day. By October 4 at 8 p.m., he opened the pipe cover and saw heat rising and heard a clear boiling sound from inside. A journalist who visited the house lowered a camera into the pipe but could not see inside due to steam fogging the lens, though the boiling noise was audible. The nearby outdoor drainage pit showed no steam or heat. Amornpet, who uses the pipe area as a daily work desk, said he has never experienced anything like this before and noted that recent roadwork in the alley had finished weeks earlier. He asked relevant agencies to conduct an urgent inspection, fearing the issue could affect neighboring houses.
