Suphanburi Province delivered a pollution-free cremation furnace to Wat Phutthamongkhon, with officials presiding over the opening ceremony. Villagers participated by writing their names and ages on paper to place in a coffin, hoping to rid themselves of misfortune, and later searched the coffin lid for lottery numbers, finding 68, 86, and 120. The event also included a test cremation of a 120‑year‑old man to inaugurate the new furnace.
Villagers flocked to view the coffin lid numbers at the ceremony delivering a pollution-free cremation furnace at the famous Wat Phutthamongkhon in Suphanburi. Residents wrote their names and ages on paper to place inside the coffin, hoping to dispel misery, sorrow, and illness according to belief. On October 15, 2026, Udom Phongfa, President of Suphanburi Provincial Administration Organization, presided over the merit-making ceremony to open the electric crematorium’s pollution-free furnace, with community leaders and villagers attending. The Suphanburi Provincial Administration Organization had implemented a subsidy project, granting 2,000,000 baht and delivering the pollution-free cremation furnace to Wat Phutthamongkhon to help reduce air pollution and alleviate problems caused by smoke and odor for residents. During the furnace delivery ceremony, a cremation ritual was performed for Mr. Kluay from Wat Nong Prue, aged 120, as a test run of the temple’s new furnace, simulating a real event to burn away bad things with Mr. Kluay. Additionally, participants wrote their names and ages on paper, inscribed to dispel misery, sorrow, illness, and danger, placing them in Mr. Kluay’s coffin so that bad things would burn together with him and good things would return to the writers. Afterwards, villagers who attended the event eagerly searched for numbers on the coffin lid to use for lottery tickets, finding the numbers 68, 86, and the age 120, and rushed to buy tickets, clearing the stall at the temple.
