TAT said it is driving Thailand's tourism industry under the 'Value over Volume' approach, focusing on increasing visitor spending and distributing tourism income to local businesses and the regional economy, especially the ASEAN and India markets, which are high-potential short-haul destinations with strong repeat travel potential. Over the past two years, the project generated more than 81 million baht in tourism revenue, and TAT is now expanding its target to include South Asian markets such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Under the 'More Value More Thailand' concept, shopping activities are used as a mechanism to stimulate travel and spending through benefits provided by more than 50 partner organizations, creating worthwhile and diverse experiences for tourists. The initiative also promotes market opportunities for Thai businesses and brands and encourages repeat visits to boost spending and economic value, pushing Thailand toward becoming a regional shopping destination. TAT expects to attract about 30,000 participants in the project, generating at least 244 million baht in tourism revenue. The project has been running continuously since 2024; this year TAT emphasizes creating value and worth for travelers throughout their journey via benefits from over 50 partners covering malls, department stores, Thai brands, restaurants, hotels, accommodations, and various service businesses. Examples of partners include King Power, X8, Central Pattana, Central, Robinson, Tops, Siam Paragon, EM District, Siam Piwat, One Bangkok, MBK Center, Asiatique, Jungceylon, Lotus's, Krung Thong Plaza, True | dtac 5G, MAMA, Mont Fleur, Erb, Malee, Propoliz, Siang Pure, Pumpui, Jula's Herb, G Sure Plus, Kornthai, ZARE, StrackYum, and Ginger Farm Kitchen. Thai Karting Officials Say 'Nong Phayu' Engine Illegal

The Royal Thai Automobile Association said the engine cylinder head used in kart racer 'Nong Phayu's' vehicle violates the regulations for the Cadet‑B class, though the team can still explain without a set deadline. The violation was discovered after a protest following the driver's first‑place finish in the TrueVisions Championship 2026. Officials noted that while the flywheel shroud is legal, the cylinder head lacks the required laser markings and IAME logo, and any penalty would depend on a future committee review.

Transport Costs Rise Third Quarter, Thailand Warns of Price Pressure

Transport costs in Thailand have risen for the third straight quarter, with the road freight index up 11.1% year-on-year in Q3 2026, driven by higher diesel prices linked to global energy market volatility. The Ministry of Commerce warned the trend could push up product prices by year-end, especially as agricultural and industrial shipping costs climbed sharply. While costs eased slightly from the previous quarter due to temporary oil price stability, officials expect the index to stay elevated through Q4 amid ongoing Middle East tensions and seasonal demand.
