Asset World Corporation has set ambitious growth targets, aiming to boost total asset value to 230 billion baht by end-2026 and to 300 billion baht by 2030. According to Vallabha Traisorat, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Asset World Corporation, the company will expand its hotel room portfolio from 6,834 rooms currently to 7,253 rooms by end-2026 and to 9,312 rooms by 2030, while increasing its retail and commercial space from 504,000 square meters in 2026 to 660,000 square meters in 2030.

The expansion will be driven through 11 iconic projects under the AWC Riverside Journey concept, which connects attractions along the Chao Phraya River. Key projects include Asiatique The Riverfront, Jurassic World Experience Bangkok, Avatar: Guardians of Eywa at Blue Dome (scheduled to open in early 2027), Mona Bangkok cable car crossing, Bangkok Skyride Adventure, The Athénée Hotel Bangkok (a luxury property), Hotel Plaza Athenee Bangkok extensions, The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok The Riverside, The Songwad Scape, The Songwad Lanes, and the Nakhon Kasem project in Yaowarat. All 11 projects will be connected through an integrated transportation system featuring EV boats, EV trams, and walking paths.

The strategy aims to boost tourism, cultural experiences, and lifestyle offerings while maximizing visitor flow between assets within the portfolio. Future expansion plans beyond 2030 include Asiatique Pattaya, a new phase in Pattaya, and the Golden Triangle development in Chiang Rai province.

A broom vendor discovered a monk who had crashed his sedan with a badly crumpled front end at a four-way intersection and could no longer drive, before abandoning the vehicle and walking away. Police tracked him down 2 kilometers away, where he claimed a female ghost had been riding with him and hurriedly called relatives to come pick him up for urgent care.

On August 16, 2025, officers from Muang Udon Thani Police Station in Udon Thani Province received a report of a monk who had crashed his sedan and left the vehicle at the Phalai intersection on the Udon Thani Bypass Road in Muang District, then walked away. "Then the monk asked about a tuk-tuk, saying he wanted to go to Nong Noi village, but no tuk-tuk would take him, so he just walked away and left the car there. When I asked the monk how he crashed the front of the car, he claimed the car had been hit 2-3 days ago."

Officers later found the monk walking along the roadside 2 kilometers from the accident site. Upon questioning, they learned he was 46 years old and had been ordained for one Buddhist year, claiming to belong to a forest temple in Maha Sarakham Province. He spoke confusedly, insisting that a woman had traveled with him and that he later realized she was a ghost. He claimed the vehicle damage came from hitting a tree inside the temple grounds.

Officers contacted his relatives, who reported that the monk had a history of mental health treatment and were already coming to pick him up. Officers took him to a temporary shelter to wait for his relatives to arrive and take him home for further care.

At 6:40 p.m. on August 16, 2569, Satthahip Police Station in Chachoengsao received a report from residents who spotted a man carrying an object resembling a firearm near Thamvitaya Soi at Satthahip Market. Deputy Police Commander Komsorn Kamtuankaeo led more than 20 patrol and investigation officers to the scene, concerned about potential danger and public alarm. Within five minutes, police found the man sitting by an electricity pole and ordered him to put down the object. He complied without resistance. Officers discovered it was a black plastic toy gun incapable of being used as a weapon. At 4:30 p.m. on August 16, 2025, Sung Men Police Station in Phrae Province received reports of a house fire at Ban Khang Ngam in Don Mul Subdistrict, Sung Men District.
