The Samet Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization is urgently addressing the stench from rotting chicken carcasses after residents complained of the foul odor. The Bang Kla District Chief has ordered the Provincial Livestock Office to quickly find a solution, with expectations that the smell will dissipate within a week if there is no further rain.
On November 2, 2026, reporters visited the area to monitor the situation after citizens posted complaints about the nauseating smell from chicken carcasses buried in Samet Nuea subdistrict, Bang Kla district, Chachoengsao province. The odor had spread to nearby residents. Relevant agencies have since inspected the site and are urgently seeking solutions.
Thawi Trisawanwong, Chief of the Samet Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization, revealed that today he, along with the Bang Kla District Chief, the owner of the involved chicken farm, and livestock officials, inspected the problematic area. The District Chief ordered the Provincial Livestock Office to urgently find a remedy to alleviate residents' distress as soon as possible.
Initially, officials sprayed EM fertilizer on the affected areas and spread white lime on the ground surface to help reduce the stench and provide immediate relief. It is predicted that if no more rain falls to inundate the area again, the odor will gradually disappear within approximately one week. Authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the problem subsides and impacts on residents are minimized.
However, residents must continue to closely monitor the results of the remediation efforts to see if the measures taken can truly reduce the stench within the predicted timeframe.
