Ying Thitikarn Supports Bum Panadda, Urges Patience in Foundation Probe
Singer Ying Thitikarn defends her volunteer work with Bum Panadda's foundation, denying any financial role and urging patience in the ongoing probe.
Luk thung singer Ying Thitikarn attended the 'Kathoeys Virus Cleansing the World' gala at Siam Paragon and opened up about the heated issue involving Bum Panadda and the Tham Dee Foundation. She admitted being startled and shocked by the developments, as many details only came to light during the press conference. She has followed the news moderately while working and wants to know how the case progresses and where it ends, noting the situation appears quite serious.
Asked whether she worked with Bum as a volunteer or held a role in the organization, Ying said she has always hashtagged herself as a volunteer artist for the Tham Dee Foundation. She joined because she saw 'Mae Bum' actively working in the field — fast, genuine, and quick to reach disaster areas, including sexual assault cases. As a fellow Thai artist, she wanted to contribute. However, she emphasized she knows nothing about the internal operations or financial trails, insisting she was only a volunteer artist.
Pressed on whether she ever handled payment systems or assisted with financial matters, Ying said never. During fieldwork, she only heard Bum repeatedly tell the young volunteers: 'Do good, whatever you do, don't bring shame to Mae.' Ying witnessed this firsthand many times.
Regarding procurement of donated goods or organizational spending, Ying said she had zero knowledge. She only knew when she was asked to help pack survival bags or join field distributions — public-facing work. Deep financial matters were unknown to her.
Asked if she ever met 'Khun Got' (Bum's former partner) during volunteer activities, Ying said she met him once at a foundation blessing ceremony, just a brief greeting. He seemed busy coordinating logistics, and they didn't speak much. She confirmed there was no personal conversation or frequent meetings.
On her closeness with Bum after volunteering, the interview cuts off before Ying answers whether she knew Bum's true character.
