Bangkok's Deputy Governor Narongrit Rueangshree has announced that the Prem Prachakon Canal dam construction project is over 60% complete and has ordered contractors to accelerate work to meet the July 11, 2026 deadline. Construction area delivery has reached 16,330 meters (64.60 percent), with 15,380 meters of reinforced concrete dam work finished (60.84 percent of the total). Approximately 2,450 of the 4,398 encroaching structures have been relocated so far. In the Flatland Community relocation zone, seven of 145 approved residential structures have been removed along a 500-meter stretch, allowing contractors to continue dam work uninterrupted. The Deputy Governor has directed the Drainage Department to coordinate closely with district offices and relevant agencies to maintain community engagement and synchronize construction schedules with land handovers, ensuring the project stays on track for completion.
