King Confers Monastic Rank on Two Senior Monks
The King has conferred the rank of royal monk on two senior Buddhist monks from a Bangkok temple, officially recognizing their years of scriptural study and religious service.
The Royal Gazette published a proclamation on September 11, 2026, detailing a royal decree conferring monastic rank certificates upon two senior monks. The first honoree, Venerable Phramaha Anurak (who has completed seven Buddhist scriptural passages), of Wat Ratchapradit Sathit Maha Simaram in Bangkok, receives the rank of ordinary-class royal monk and the new name Phra Pannyavajranant. The second, Venerable Phramaha Rangsi (who has completed six scriptural passages), also of the same temple, receives the same rank and the name Phra Pariyattivajropass. Both appointments are effective from September 10, 2026, and were proclaimed on September 11, 2026, in the eleventh year of the current reign.
