Blue Senators Delay Ethics Complaint Against Election Commissioner
Five senators from the blue bloc have delayed filing an ethics complaint against Election Commissioner Sitti‑choti Inthrawiset with the National Anti‑Corruption Commission, saying they need to add more details to the petition. The additional material includes his remarks at a Royal Institute seminar where he allegedly disclosed confidential Election Commission data. They plan to submit the updated complaint next week.
The group of about five blue senators had prepared a petition to the NACC requesting an investigation into Election Commissioner Sitti‑choti Inthrawiset for alleged violations of Sections 234 and 235 of the constitution concerning ethics and misconduct, stemming from his disclosure of the Senate’s deliberations in the vote‑buying case. They had finished drafting the complaint and entrusted the Senate Secretariat to submit it to the NACC chair before noon on October 2, 2026. However, the senators later decided to postpone the filing because they wanted to add further information, notably Sitti‑choti’s comments at a seminar titled “The Truth About the Senator Vote‑Buying Case That Every Thai Should Know,” hosted by the Royal Institute on September 30, which they argue shows he used confidential Election Commission data to boost credibility of the NACC’s findings. They expect to be able to submit the revised petition to the NACC next week.
