Boo and Nam Pattaya Win Thai Pool Championships
Boo Pattaya won his fifth Thai 9-ball pool championship, defeating Oad Ranong 13-9 in the final, while Nam Pattaya captured the women's title by beating Ting Tang TBC 13-8. The Taom 9 Ball Thailand Championship 2026 took place at the Thai Billiards Association’s Kiartithada Academy in Bangkok on October 6, offering a total prize fund of 220,000 baht. Association president Suntorn Jaroomunt said next year’s event will be larger, featuring more disciplines to develop national‑team talent.
In the men's final, defending four-time champion Boo Pattaya (Preecha Boonmuang) faced off against former national snooker player Oad Ranong (Phlakorn Tiawaskul). After a tight start that saw the score tied 3-3 after six racks, Boo Pattaya pulled ahead to lead 10-8 and then dominated the remaining racks to win 13-9, securing his fifth national title and earning 80,000 baht in prize money, while the runner-up received 40,000 baht. In the women's final, Nam Pattaya (Pennipha Nakjuay) outplayed Ting Tang TBC (Wuttiphon Khonkhahet) from the saltwater city, winning 13-8 racks to claim her second title and 30,000 baht, with the runner-up taking 15,000 baht. After the matches, Big Hong praised both champions and outlined plans for next year’s expanded tournament series, which will include additional snooker and billiard events and aim to attract more top cue‑sport athletes for the national team.
