On August 5, the Cabinet approved the promotion of Police Colonel Watthanyu Withayapolothai, known as Phor Kor Noi, from deputy director to director of the Office for Accelerating National Reform, Strategy and National Reconciliation (ONRSA). Watthanyu is a former police bodyguard who served the Shinawatra family closely during the administrations of former Prime Ministers Thaksin Shinawatra and current Prime Minister Pita Shinawatra. He was transferred from the Royal Thai Police to the civil service in November 2024, taking the position of deputy director under the first Anutin Cabinet.
