Car Crashes Into Pharmacy Near Phuket Airport, One Dead
A car crashed into a pharmacy near Phuket Airport's departure area on September 23, killing a 58-year-old pedestrian and injuring another; the driver was detained at the scene.
At 9:00 AM on September 23, 2025, Sakoo Police Station received a report of a vehicle collision near a pharmacy on the road in front of Phuket International Airport's departure area in Sakoo subdistrict, Thalang district, Phuket. Deputy Inspector Akrapol Sivilo and other officers rushed to the scene along with rescue personnel from the local administrative organization and Phuket Kusol Tham Foundation.
At the scene, a gray MG sedan bearing a Bangkok registration plate was found embedded against the pharmacy's front window, causing damage to the storefront and contents inside. The driver, 41-year-old Samridet, was detained at the scene.
A 58-year-old female pedestrian named Thanaphak died from her injuries; her body was taken to Vachira Hospital for autopsy. A 33-year-old male pedestrian named Kitti was injured and taken to Thalang Hospital for treatment.
Investigating officers examined the scene, photographed the area, created a diagram, and collected evidence. The vehicle was taken to Sakoo Police Station for detailed forensic examination of the collision. A forensic pathologist performed an autopsy according to legal procedures. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
