Nene Royal, a 16-year-old guitarist from Phuket, Thailand, is appealing for votes after performing in the America's Got Talent finals. The young artist revealed that her rock star dream began at age seven when she picked up a guitar by chance at school—the only musical instrument available after the computer club filled up. "I fell in love with that first chord," she explained, "and I decided right then that I would become a female rock star."
Performing "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes on the AGT stage, Nene reflected on her unexpected journey. "When I first walked onto the AGT stage, I was just a student," she said. "But AGT has completely changed my life. I can hardly believe I've come this far from a small island in Thailand. Coming to AGT and reaching the finals feels like my childhood dream is finally becoming real."
After her performance, host Terry asked whether her dream was coming true. "Yes," Nene replied. "I've been holding a guitar and dreaming of being a rock star since I was very young. I'm so grateful to be on the AGT stage and to have made it to the finals. My childhood dream is happening now. Please vote for me so I can achieve my dream of becoming a rock star."
The AGT Season 21 finals winner will be announced on September 24 (Thailand time).
