Central Retail has invested 490 billion baht in Vietnam over 15 years, operating over 300 outlets across 26 provinces, and plans to expand with 10-12 new hypermarkets and 23-25 mini supermarkets in 2025.
Central Retail Corporation has invested over 490 billion baht in Vietnam across the past 15 years, establishing more than 300 retail outlets and shopping centers across 26 provinces. The company plans to add 10-12 GO! Hypermarket branches and 23-25 mini go! Supermarket branches in 2025, betting on Vietnam's robust economic expansion and consumer demand.
Central Retail CEO Sutthisarn Chiradhibat said the company views Vietnam as a strategically important market, citing continued economic growth, urbanization, and rising purchasing power. Vietnam's GDP expanded 8.18 percent in the first half of 2025 and 8.39 percent in the second quarter, while retail and consumer services grew 12.9 percent, demonstrating strong domestic consumption.
Over 15 years, Central Retail has built a comprehensive retail ecosystem spanning 1.3 million square meters of retail space across food, non-food, lifestyle, sports, and fashion segments under brands including GO! Hypermarket, Tops Market, mini go!, Supersports, Kubo, and GO! Mall. The company employs around 13,000 staff, 99.5 percent of whom are Vietnamese nationals.
Central Retail's Vietnam business is organized into three main groups: the food segment under GO! Hypermarket, Tops Market, mini go!, and Lan Chi Mart; non-food and lifestyle brands including Supersports, Kubo, Dyson, Columbia, Crocs, Hoka, Speedo, and Under Armour; and the property segment GO! Mall, which features over 200 foreign brands and more than 400 Vietnamese retailers.
The company will continue expanding modern retail to major cities, secondary towns, and communities nationwide under the Right Format, Right Location, and Right Proposition strategy. It is also building a customer ecosystem through The 1 Vietnam loyalty program, which has accumulated more than 7.4 million members in less than one year, spanning both food and non-food businesses and offering omnichannel experiences.
Central Retail Food CEO Stefan Kuhm said the food business is a key growth driver for the company in Vietnam, with the goal of becoming the "Pantry of Vietnam" by offering fresh, diverse, quality, safe, and affordable products. The company will leverage diverse store formats including hypermarkets and supermarkets tailored to different locations and consumer groups, particularly in secondary cities and provinces. GO! Hypermarket will be elevated to a fresh food destination with bakery and eatery concepts, making it more than a shopping destination. Mini go! Supermarket will focus on expansion in provincial and secondary markets, while Tops Market will address evolving lifestyle needs in major cities.
