Content creator Pimriipy went live to announce her warehouse had been devastated by heavy flooding, revealing losses in the hundreds of millions of baht. She faced online criticism from viewers questioning why she continued selling products rather than focusing solely on helping flood-affected communities.
Pimriipy detailed her recent financial troubles, explaining that her durian business lost hundreds of millions of baht after being defrauded by suppliers and local contacts. Her subsequent smoothie venture only lasted seven days before a Chinese supplier allegedly cheated her as well. The latest warehouse flood has forced her to liquidate remaining stock to stay afloat, though she is now without cash reserves and unable to fulfill charitable commitments she had made for local Buddhist merit-making ceremonies at multiple temples.
During her livestream, Pimriipy became emotional while addressing her critics, saying: "Is it only me flooding? The whole of Bangkok is flooded too. I have never created content begging for sympathy—I only give. Do you think I'm making this up? Do you think I enjoy drama and want pity? Why are we biting each other when everyone is suffering? If you see someone making money, why judge them? Are you asking me to donate? I'm trading warehouse goods to survive, not asking anyone to buy but criticizing what exactly?"
She emphasized her humble origins and current hardship, stating: "Look at my eyebrows, my face, my hair. Would I look like this if I were rich? I don't have money. I just had more opportunity than I was born with, and when I had money, I took care of villagers and made sacrifices for 10 years. You can see I didn't hoard wealth or show off arrogantly." Pimriipy noted that she still has two Buddhist merit-making ceremonies planned at temples in coming days and is selling whatever she can to fund them and keep her staff of over 2,000 people employed.
