Drunk Driver Kills Thai, German Women on Thong Lo Road
A drunk driver slammed his car into two pedestrians on Thong Lo Road in Bangkok, killing a Thai woman and a German national. The driver’s blood‑alcohol level measured 146 milligrams percent, well above the legal limit. He has been arrested and charged with fatal drunk‑driving.
Police Lieutenant Prinya‑to Pengjaroen of Thong Lo Police Station received the report of a vehicle‑pedestrian collision at the entrance of Thong Soi 3, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok. Officers arrived to find two seriously injured women, identified as Thitim, 23, and Michel, a 22‑year‑old German citizen, and summoned rescue services to transport them to a nearby hospital. The gray MG sedan with license plate 4Khjo 358 Bangkok was located nearby; its driver, 28‑year‑old Kritt, appeared intoxicated and admitted to driving. A breath‑alcohol test showed 145 milligrams percent, later confirmed as 146 mg%. After the victims succumbed to their injuries at hospital, police charged Kritt with causing death while driving under the influence, and the case will proceed under Thai law.
