Election Commission Dismisses Most MP Election Fraud Complaints
Thailand’s Election Commission said it has processed 136 of 333 election fraud complaints from the February 2026 MP vote, dismissing most and referring only one for criminal prosecution. It also noted nine referendum-related complaints, six of which are resolved with one leading to criminal charges. Meanwhile, 197 complaints remain under review, with many still under investigation or awaiting commission review.
The Commission said that of the 333 complaints, 136 have been finalized. Most were dismissed or not accepted, while only one case led to criminal prosecution. Regarding the referendum-related complaints, there were nine cases, six of which have been resolved, with five dismissed or filed for information and one resulting in criminal prosecution. The remaining 197 cases are still under processing: 16 are under investigation or inquiry, 18 are being summarized with recommendations not to accept or to report inspection/check data, 95 have been summarized and opinions submitted to the Secretary-General, 42 have been forwarded to the subcommittee for adjudication, and 26 are awaiting submission to the Commission’s meeting agenda. For the referendum complaints, three remain pending: one is being summarized with an opinion for the Secretary-General, and two have been forwarded to the subcommittee for adjudication.
